TODAY'S TECHNOLOGY: NOT THE SAME GAME AS EVEN TWO YEARS AGO
Technology has come so far in the last few years that making informed decisions about the range of available hearing aid options can be a confusing task. You need to choose technologies carefully as hearing aids are now miniature computers with a paired sound system that can have a major impact on your life.
You need to choose your provider just as carefully. With professional evaluation and assistance, the challenge of selection can be smoothly handled to obtain optimum results. OHC often has clients who walk into our office, and after thorough assessment, leave with hearing aids that are virtually invisible and provide a definite "wow" effect. (And OHC makes sure that the "wow" effect outlasts the trial period.)
RETURNING TO THE HEARING WORLD
. . . is an interactive process between you, your hearing aids, and your audiologist.
A proper hearing aid fitting is a mixture of art, education, and technology. This process should continue throughout the life of the hearing aids. The process is the most intense during the trial period. This is the time you are choosing both the instruments and the provider that you are going to be depending on for years.
If your trial period consists of more nothing more than “Can you hear me now?” you definitely don’t have the correct provider and you should question how carefully the hearing aids were chosen for you.
